Oriole Advocates Enjoy Guided District Tour

Oriole Advocates is a network of informed, engaged individuals who lend a voice to the students, teachers, and staff of the Avon Community School Corporation to promote student achievement and community engagement.

Today, nearly 30 of this year's Advocates boarded buses for a tour of Avon High School, Avon Intermediate School East, the Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry, White Oak Early Learning Center, and Avon Academy

Along the way, the Advocates met administrators, interacted with students, went behind the caution tape to tour soon-to-be-opened areas of AHS, created art projects, and more. They were impressed by the size of the schools and the amount of activity that occurs during school hours, but they were even more impressed by the students, educators, and administrators who served as tour guides and hosts.

The Advocates concluded their tour with a fuller understanding of the work that occurs at our schools and a stronger desire to advocate for Avon Schools.
