Matt Shockley Sees Clear Results

Matt Shockley became Principal at Avon High School shortly after the Operating Refendum failed in 2011. The results? "I was seeing class sizes that just continued to grow." Since voters approved the Operating Referendum in 2018, "to see classes above 30 is a very rare circumstance," says Mr. Shockley. "And that's something that is so helpful to creating amazing learning environments for our kids."

Mr. Shockley continues, "The thing I can say, quite honestly, to our community is that the school district has been faithful stewards. They have provided an annual report to the community regarding how [2018 Operating Referendum] funds have been used. And I think the community can be proud. ... There's direct results from how those dollars have been used and the success we have seen inside and outside the classroom for our kids."
