A Note from the Principal

My name is Stephane Bordelon.  I have been a principal for 12 years – in Indiana and in Louisiana. I've also served as an English/Language Arts Specialist at the district level, an Assistant Principal, an Assistant Director of Special Education, and a General Education and Special Education Teacher. At Evergreen Elementary School we take PRIDE in our students as we contribute to the important work of providing a developmentally responsive education to our elementary students.  It is our job to provide our students with opportunities to grow and learn while keeping them engaged, challenged, and supported. Our students are gifts with limitless potential. Through the inclusive efforts of our school community, we can help them to develop their own unique skills and talents and prepare them for continued success far beyond their childhood years.  
 
We utilize a system of school-wide positive behavior supports to increase our capacity to reduce school disruptions and educate all students through clearly defined outcomes and a supportive and communicative system for problem solving. We use the acronym PRIDE to help our students with some key words as we establish a regular, predictable, positive learning and teaching environment:

• E - I demonstrate EXCELLENCE
